Into the Ram 700

by David Zatz on

A Chrysler de México spokesman helped Allpar to gather information and photography of the new Ram 700 pickup, already sold in Mexico and destined for the Caribbean as well. It is essentially a rebadged Fiat Strada, with few modifications.

The compact four-cylinder pickup has a single engine choice — ironically, the Fiat e.TorQ derived from a Chrysler design and still built in Brazil, at a factory purchased from Chrysler.  It competes with the Chevrolet Tornado and Volkswagen Saveiro, and our article has comparisons to both.

The low-cost pickup  will not be sold in the United States or Canada. For the full story, see our new Ram 700 page.
