Chrysler at the NAIAS Gallery Preview

by Christopher Chrouch on

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) was out in force at Detroit’s MGM Grand Casino, home of the North American International Auto Show Gallery Preview, which showcases elite luxury cars from global automakers. FCA was out in force with eight cars representating from Maserati, Ferrari, and Dodge.

Dodge brought out a blue 2015 Dodge SRT Viper GTS. Packed between a set of Lingenfelter tuned Corvettes, the snake stood with 640hp from its V10 powerplant.  Even without visible updates for the 2015 Dodge SRT Viper GTS shown (it did get a power bump), it remains the brand’s flagship car.

Sergio Marchionne’s comeback brand Maserati is ready for prime time in the crowded US luxury market, with three cars bearing the trident.  FCA has delivered on its promise and continues to expand its Maserati brand, leading in attraction with the Granturismo Convertible. With a rich deep black paint and a cream interior with metal accents, the GT Vert was dressed to impress.

Also on display was the limited 2014 Ermenegildo Zegna edition Maserati Quattroporte, number 1 of 100. Painted in a signature Platinum Silk that contains aluminum pigments to achieve its silky finish, its interior had wrapped panels and wood trim rounded out by metals.

The Ghibli sedan was on hand to draw in potential luxury buyers with its coupe-like appeal and an attractive-for-Maserati base price of $69,800.
