A closer look at the Jeep concepts

by David Zatz on

Today,  Automotive News shared several photos taken by Fiat Chrysler beat reporter Larry Vellequette, a longtime veteran of the Toledo Blade.

Red Rock Responder storage

These photos answer some questions about the concepts, such as how exactly all those rescue materials were stored on the Red Rock Responder, and how much detail was put into the popular Jeep Chief concept, which blends Wagoneer styling with a Wrangler base.

The Red Rock Responder, in particular, may show Jeep’s thoughts on making a useful pickup that is differentiated from the rest of the market. The tilted rear was presumably designed to increase the ability of the pickup to traverse sudden steep grades, at the cost of rear visibility and a typical profile.

Our main 2015 Jeep concept cars page has been updated with the full set; we are showing some of the more significant photos here.
