New head of Jeep for EMEA

Steve Zanlunghi is the new Head of Jeep Brand for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.

In an announcement made yesterday, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) said Zanlunghi, 41, is replacing Chris Ellis, who will take on new responsibilities within FCA.

Zanlunghi-Headshot-WebZanlunghi will now be responsible for all sales, marketing, product, and network development operations for the Jeep brand in the region. He will also remain the managing director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles United Kingdom with operational responsibilities for Ireland.

Before coming to the UK, Zanlunghi was the director of Chrysler Group’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Business Center. He has also worked in Sales and Commercial Operations, Western Europe at Fiat SpA in Turin during his 17 years with the company.

Zanlunghi holds a BS in Business Management with a minor in both International Business and Finance from Providence College, Rhode Island.

Bill Cawthon grew up in the auto industry in the 1950s. His Dad worked for Chrysler and Bill spent a number of Saturdays down on the plant floor at Dodge Main in Hamtramck. Bill is also the U.S. market correspondent for just-auto.com, a British auto industry publication, and a member of the Texas Auto Writers Association, which has named the Jeep Grand Cherokee the “SUV of Texas” several times and named the Ram 1500 as the “Truck of Texas” two years running.

Bill has owned five Plymouths (including the only 1962 “Texan”), one Dodge and one Chrysler and is still trying to figure out how to justify a Wrangler.
