Ram trying for Guinness record

by David Zatz on

ram truck roundup / acm festivalRam, the truck of the Academy of Country Music Awards,  asked  its owners to help break a Guinness World Record™ for the largest parade of pickup trucks, honoring the 50th anniversary of the country music awards. These will be broadcast live, for the first time ever, on April 19, at 8 pm Eastern time, on CBS. The invitation was announced today.

Five hundred slots are available for the “Ram Truck Round-up” parade on Saturday, April 18, at Arlington’s stadium; registration is at www.ramroundup.com. Each participating Ram truck will get up to two tickets for Saturday’s ACM Party for a Cause Festival, with  performances by top country music artists.

A $50 deposit for each ticket is required to hold a place in the parade; it will be refunded to participants, in cash, when they check in at the event.

Robert Hegbloom, Ram CEO, said, “The ‘Ram Truck Round-up’ is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our loyal truck owners to be a part of a special record-breaking rally and pickup parade in the largest truck market in the country.”

Raminator

Entertainment at the Ram Truck Round-up will include a car-crushing appearance by the Raminator monster truck and a chance to meet nine-time Monster Truck Racing Association Driver of the Year Mark Hall.

Expected Ram partners include Bosch Power Tools, Mossy Oak, Tucker Hibbert, Ram Rodeo, and Drury Outdoor; the first 100 trucks will get giveaways, and all will get special offers. Light breakfast items will be available free for guests who arrive early. No outside food or alcohol is permitted.

The two day ACM Party for a Cause Festival is an outdoor music event on April 17-18 at Globe Life Park in Arlington, with multiple stages for ongoing performances, interactive experiences, and a family-friendly country marketplace. Many 2015 ACM Award nominees are set to perform, and the festival will be taped for a two-hour special on CBS (Friday, May 15).

This is the sixth consecutive year that the Ram Truck brand has partnered with and been the “Official Truck” of the ACM Awards. Ram is the sponsor of the Ram Lone Star Stage at the Festival, and is running a national radio promotion where winners receive trips to Dallas.
