“Drive Proud” officially debuts

by David Zatz on

Long after Allpar News reported on the “Drive Proud” campaign, and days after Chrysler chief Al Gardner told Allpar.com about it, Chrysler has issued a press release noting its debut.

FCA’s chief marketing officer, Olivier Francois, who spearheaded the original “Imported from Detroit” series and other campaigns which focused on pride and overcoming adversity, said that Chrysler “celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of Americans who refuse to give up, dedicate themselves to a craft and have the guts to turn dreams into reality.” He said that the latest ad saw “nobility not as a birthright but an earned designation.”

Featured in the series are Becky Hammon, the first full-time female NBA assistant coach; Alexis Ohanian, Reddit cofounder; Mercedes Yvette, of The Gilded Fox; Lynn Le, founder of Society Nine; restaurant owner Caroline Styne; furniture designer/entrepeneur Nolen Niu; hoteliers Avi Brosh and Andrew Sasson; photographer Kwaku Alston; jewelry designer Tiffany Schrade; novelist Smith Henderson; gambler Phil Ivey; and martial arts studio owner Shawn Williams.

The company announced three additional 30-second television ads in the campaign, which will run through June on television, digital media, and print, created with Wieden+Kennedy Portland.
