Hellcat Charger Arriving at Dealers Now

by Patrick Rall on

Over the past few weeks, we have received a great many messages asking about Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat deliveries. While I have seen a few real-world videos showing privately owned 707hp Mopar muscle sedans in action, I’ve heard very little about the world’s fastest sedan reaching dealerships. I reached out to all of our many Dodge dealership contacts and we have some good news and some bad news.

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

First, the good news.

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is reaching dealerships around the country. The delivery numbers seem fairly low as the company continues to work through the massive number of orders for both the Hellcat Challenger and Charger, but one of our dealership connections (who wished to remain nameless) verified that his dealership had received and delivered one Hellcat Charger. I have seen other reports of Hellcat Chargers being delivered including videos showing the Hellcat Charger stretching its legs on the road and on the track, but it appears as though the 707hp Charger is being delivered in fairly low numbers – which brings me to the bad news.

The bad news is that all but one of our dealership contacts had not yet received a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. I believe that at this point, all of the dealership representatives with whom I communicate have had at least one Hellcat Challenger sold and delivered, but only one of them have actually taken delivery of a Hellcat Charger. They all hope to get one soon, but the only one who had an idea of when they might get their first Hellcat Charger was the dealership that had already received and sold their first car. The rest are in the dark as to when their 707 horsepower sedan might arrive, even in the event that they have a buyer waiting.

Our dealership contacts are spread out all over the country, so it seems as though those folks looking to buy a 707 horsepower Charger will have a difficult time finding one in the near term, regardless of where he or she lives.

While there has been no breakdown available, it is widely believed that well over 9,000 orders have been received by the company for the Hellcat Charger and Hellcat Challenger. Based on the large number of Hellcat Challengers popping up in racing videos, forums, and social networks, it looks as though the company is receiving and delivering on more Challenger orders. However, the company has said that they will built every Hellcat car ordered – it is just unclear how long it will take for them to get them all built and delivered.

In the meantime, the Hellcat Chargers are finally making their way to dealerships in some areas, so progress is being made – just not quickly enough for those folks waiting with cash in hand and an empty spot in their garage that can only be filled by a 707 horsepower Dodge sedan.
