Daimler Recalls “Dodge” Sprinters

by David Zatz on

Daimler AG is recalling 40,061 Sprinter vans made from July 1, 2005 to July 31, 2008, to replace Takata passenger-side airbags. FCA will notify Dodge buyers while Daimler Vans USA will notify Freightliner buyers. Recalls are free but customers may wait a good deal of time for notification of this one.

The recalled Sprinters are from the 2006, 2007 and 2008 model years (for Dodge; 2007 and 2008 for Freightliner). NHTSA’s report did not provide VIN sequences.  The affected vans include some sold to upfitters and equipped as campers or other vehicles.
