FCA: $5 billion for the USA

by David Zatz on

FCA US has promised to invest around $5.3 billion in the US as it shuffles production around and renovates its plants. According to the UAW, the breakout of investments over the next four years is:

  • $3.4 billion for assembly
  • $1.5 billion for powertrain
  • $315 million ($0.3 billion) for stamping
  • $34 million for Mopar parts distribution centers

Allpar has already covered rumors of what is moving where in terms of assembly. Powertrain may be busy as new turbocharged four-cylinder engines go into production, hybrid minivans join the lineup (probably followed by other hybrid vehicles), and transmission production continues to be increased.
