The FCA/Star Wars commercials

by David Zatz on

FCA’s global campaign with Disney and Lucasfilm starts on December 3, to promote “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, and Fiat vehicles. The movie itself  opens worldwide on December 18.

Seven co-branded televisions spots will launch this week in United States.  The Ram “Family” spot uses sound design and music from the movie trailer, along with the voice of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) saying, as Rams appear, “There exists an all-powerful force in the universe. It surrounds us. Gives us strength. Turns fear into hope. And to those who seek to harness such power … This is what you’ve been looking for…”

Dodge’s spot uses the “bad guys” with a black Dodge Viper leading white Dodge Chargers, Challengers and Durangos to the opening of the Star Wars film, set against the “Imperial March” music.

Finally, Chrysler looks at the first time people saw a Star Wars movie, Jeep showcases the Renegade, while Fiat shows black and white Abarths dueling on “a landscape from a galaxy far, far away.”
