Geneva: “All but Mopar”

by David Zatz on

The Geneva Auto Show will include presentations from every FCA brand except those belonging to the former Chrysler. The only major “Mopar” brand in Europe is Jeep, with a 0.6% market share.

Abarth, Maserati, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo are all slated for 15 minute press conferences. Maserati is showing its Levante, and Alfa Romeo may show the standard Giulia; Fiat and Abarth remain a mystery.

Many had expected the new Jeep Compass to debut in Geneva; it may appear in New York next month instead. The timetable for the Compass is not completely clear, but it is likely still too far away for a public unveiling. Production of the current Compass and Patriot is, according to reliable source oh2o, scheduled to finally end in the fourth quarter — October, November, or December 2016.  The Dodge Dart, made in the same facility, will continue well into 2017.
