805-hp Hellcat X hits the track

by David Zatz on

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat X, a one-off built as part of a charity raffle, has gone to the track — though as this video shows, traction was a serious problem for an eighth of a mile.

The modified 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is being raffled along with a custom 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T as part of a program which has been running since 2008.

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat X uses the factory supercharger and a pair of turbochargers, just behind the engine. This system lifts the output from 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque to 805 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque.

They added raw aluminum accents to the three openings in the hood, around the front grille and on the lower rear diffuser, along with a new adjustable chin spoiler and rear deck lid spoiler to increase downforce at high speeds. The Hellcat X also has custom badging on the fenders, the wheels, and out back.

To win the Hellcat X in its charity raffle, one can buy tickets at $3 apiece, or in a package — the largest of which costs $5,000 and gets you 6,000 tickets.
