FCA in the clear on smog cheat

by David Zatz on

The German agency responsible for emissions testing has finished a study of diesel-powered cars, finding that only Volkswagen (including Audi and other brands) has built in systems to cheat government tests.

The news comes through Reuters and is based on a report by the newspaper Handelsblatt.

The paper noted some irregularities in other cars during on-road testing, but all remained within legal limits except for those made by Volkswagen.

Volkswagen sales have fallen even as discounts have grown, but many buyers apparently are unaware that Audi has the same issues and is part of the company.
