GM nails loyalty; Jeep, conquests

by David Zatz on

IHS Automotive division Polk reported that General Motors had the highest 2015 U.S. customer loyalty of any automaker, while Ford had the highest customer loyalty for a particular brand (likely due to the F-series).

Jeep, on the other hand, led conquests among all brands; Audi won this disinction in 2014.

Within segments, three Jeeps did well in loyalty: Renegade, grand Cherokee, and Wrangler.  Chrysler grabbed one spot, for the Town & Country (despite a recent drubbing by Consumer Reports.)

GM won three segments as well; Ford had two; Toyota garnered four, three for Lexus and one for Toyota itself. Honda had just one, for an Acura.  Overall, 52% of returning customers stuck to the same brand as their prior car, and 59% stayed with the same automaker.
