Jeep won Mudfest

by David Zatz on

The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the  “Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year,” based on votes at the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA)’s annual Mudfest competition.

The event chair, Ryan Douthit, wrote, “For 2016 we made both our on- and off-road courses more challenging. The Ram Rebel, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee impressed our members with their ability to not only traverse any obstacle, but to do so with a unique sense of style and comfort.”

The Grand Cherokee also won the Family Utility class; the Wrangler won in Extreme Capability; and the Ram Rebel in the Pickups class.

More than 25 NWAPA automotive journalists spent two days testing vehicles on paved and off-road routes, testing 28 vehicles from 21 manufacturers to select winners in six categories — half of which were Jeeps or the Ram Rebel.
