Small wet-van recall

by David Zatz on

FCA is asking around 26,000 ProMaster City van owners to keep their driver’s side footwells dry, because a connector can succumb to moisture and send odd signals to the transmission, possibly causing it to shift to neutral at a stop instead of staying in Drive.

The company has a recall in progress, and will contact customers; there are no known cases where this caused a crash or injury. FCA discovered the problem while reviewing warranty data. The recall covers 2015-16 ProMaster City vans, which were only sold in the US and Canada. The company help line is at 1-800-853-1403.
