Journey to a recall

by David Zatz on

Around 200,000 Dodge Journeys — all with the optional engine block heater — are being recalled because a fluid line may not be durable enough in extreme cold weather, resulting in a leak. While steering is not lost, power assistance is, resulting in a great deal of effort to turn the wheel.

Dodge Journey recall

There have been no known injuries or crashes. The recall covers 2009-2016 model year Dodge Journeys, but only those with engine block heaters. As a result, while just about 11,000 are in the US, a full 187,436 are in Canada.

Dodge expects to have replacement parts “soon” and will notify customers accordingly; the customer service center hotline is at 1-800-853-1403.
