Mopar expanding again

by David Zatz on

Mopar is building a new, 400,000 square foot distribution center in Winchester, Virginia, to open by the end of this year. That will give Mopar 22 parts centers in North America.

The facility will handle more than 50,000 part numbers; it is projected to ship over nine million parts per year from its 27 acre site, speeding repairs at around 200 dealerships.  Mopar reps said they projected 24 tractor-trailers of shipments per day leaving, with ten coming in; 70 people will work at the center, in two shifts. The cost will be over $12 million, including LEED (low-energy/environmental impact) certification.

The last new Mopar distribution center was launched in Toluca, Mexico, in February 2015. Job applicants can visit the FCA web site; requisition number 1021453 is for the Mopar Warehouse Unit Leader position.
