Small-scale transmission-pump recall

by David Zatz on

Roughly 50,000 minivans, Journeys, and ProMasters around the world are being recalled due to transmission pumps which could fail to perform as needed, resulting in “propulsion loss.” No accidents or injuries were reported, and the problem was found by checking warranty data.

The cars affected are all from the 2015 or 2016 model years and have the six speed automatic transmission. 2016 Ram ProMasters are also included. Customers will be notified when a fix is ready.

David Zatz founded Allpar in 1998 (based on a site he had begun in 1993-94), after years of writing reviews for retail trades. He has been quoted by the New York Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Detroit News, and USA Today. Before making Allpar a full-time career, he was a consultant in organizational psychology.
