Stretched Jeep for China?

by David Zatz on

An Allpar source wrote that Jeep is planning a three-row K8 for China and possibly elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific region. Based off the popular Cherokee, it would likely be made in the Chinese joint-venture plant, and capitalize on the popularity of the Cherokee.

The K8 would be due sometime next year as a 2018 model; it would most likely be launched with the imminent “Cherokee facelift” which will also appear on American models. It is unlikely to look like our clumsily stretched 2015 Cherokee, above.

David Zatz founded Allpar in 1998 (based on a site he had begun in 1993-94), after years of writing reviews for retail trades. He has been quoted by the New York Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Detroit News, and USA Today. Before making Allpar a full-time career, he was a consultant in organizational psychology.
