Mopar vs world in St Louis

by David Zatz on

The Monster Muscle Car Weekend will return to Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Lous on October 1 and 2. Traditionally an all-Mopar event but not any longer, it includes quarter-mile drag racing, a Mopar swap meet, and manufacturer’s midway.  JP Motorsports, a new promoter, is adding “Mopars vs the World” drag racing, welcoming other cars to drag race against the Chrysler contingent.

The car show will have a Mopar-judged competition and a “fun field” open to all makes.

Four specialty races have been added, including Pony Car Wars, matching modern Chevrolet Camaros, Ford Mustangs, and Dodge Challengers, and allowing any power add-ons.  The Arrington Performance New Hemi Challenge is open to all modern or Hemi-powered vehicles.  There is also a Hellcat/Scat Pack Challenge.

Five minutes from St. Louis, the nearly-200-acres motorpark has an  NHRA-sanctioned drag strip, 1.25-mile speedway, road course, Karting facility, and a new dirt off-road venue.  The photo above is not from the venue.
