Renegade ups its game

by David Zatz on

Jeep is boosting the content of the Renegade, with  standard “keyless go” (pushbutton start, finger-sensing door handles) coming late in 2017; HID headlamps and automatic high beams will become optional on all models as well.  The Limited will get standard passive entry, and Latitude will add the seven-inch trip computer to the UConnect 6.5N package.

The Renegade has been a runaway success in Europe; in the US, it has barely kept up with the outgoing Compass, released a decade ago.

David Zatz founded Allpar in 1998 (based on a site he had begun in 1993-94), after years of writing reviews for retail trades. He has been quoted by the New York Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Detroit News, and USA Today. Before making Allpar a full-time career, he was a consultant in organizational psychology.
