Huge, macho, and overlooked?

by David Zatz on

With the hot 1971-2017 mashup Dodge Challenger Shakedown and the attractive, curious Jeep CJ-66 concept out on social media and the Web, it’s easy to overlook the biggest elephant in the room — the 392-powered Ram Power Wagon Macho.

Bearing a paint job not too far from the attractive coppery-orange CJ-66, the Power Wagon Macho isn’t just a wheel-and-paint job (though it does have bigger tires and special wheels). Inspired partly by the classic trucks featured on the soon-to-be-rebooted Simon & Simon, these tough pickups have a four-inch lift kit, unique front bumper, push-bar (all-important in those car chases with bad guys), beadlock wheels, off-road tires, and quite a few other touches inside and out.

One of the most visible additions is a clever cargo system, which can slide all the way up front to be out of sight, or kept in back so you can carry a boat or other long cargo more easily.

It’s an attractive, nicely accessorized truck that doesn’t deserve to be pushed out of the limelight. Full Power Wagon Macho page
