From #1 to #2 in Canada

by David Zatz on

FCA lost its first-place status in Canada to Ford this year, with market share falling from 15.3% to 14.3%.

Ford had a gangbuster 2016 in Canada, with a 9% gain over 2015, while FCA sales fell by 4%. General Motors also gained, by 1.5%, not enough to catch up to FCA.  It was a record year for Canadian and American sales alike.

Ford had 304,618 Canadian sales, well over FCA’s 278,729 and GM’s 267,341.  The three, together, had roughly a 44% market share — less than half the total.
