Jeep breaks a million in NA

by David Zatz on

Jeep sold over a million vehicles in the United States and Canada in 2016, roughly 57,000 more than in 2015. The million-sale mark was first broken in 2014, worldwide; and since that time, the Renegade has shattered records in Europe and Brazil.

Jeep has easily outsold its 2015 record of 1.2 million (1,237,583) worldwide sales; last year, around 30% of sales were outside the United States.  However, the exact number isn’t likely to be known for a little while, as reports from other continents come in.

Next year should also be a good one for Jeep, with the new Compass making its worldwide debut; if it sweeps other markets like the Renegade did, any softening of sales in the US will be balanced by hotter trading in Europe, South America, and Asia.
