Exclusive: Sublime Ram Sport leaked

by Patrick Rall on

Earlier today, a friend of Allpar sent us the image you see below as part of a group of official FCA information, showing what appears to be a Ram 1500 Sport in Sublime Green with a “Performance hood” and black trim. There is no information accompanying the image of this sporty green Ram 1500, but based on the look of this truck – there could be another special edition half-ton Ram coming in the near future.

Over the past few years, Ram has offered up a few special edition, color-themed packages, with the most recent being the 2017 Ram 1500 Ignition Orange Sport (shown below). The Ignition Orange Ram 1500 is based on the Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab, with the striking orange exterior paint, some black trim, the “performance hood” with dual vents and a blacked-out cabin with minimal orange trim.

The Sublime Ram 1500 shown above looks like it might be similar to the Ignition Orange package – except with a bright green exterior rather than bright orange. This green Ram appears to be a Sport model with the Performance hood and we can see the Hemi badges on the fenders, but that is the extent of the information which can be drawn from this image.

While some people might shrug off a color-themed appearance package, we should remind everyone that Sublime Green proved to be hugely popular on the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. In fact, Sublime was the most popular color for the first year of the Hellcat Challenger, and those folks who own a Sublime Hellcat will be quick to insist that it is the best color for the 707 horsepower muscle car. Considering that the Ignition Orange Ram 1500 Sport would comfortably pull a car trailer loaded with a Hellcat Challenger, perhaps some current Hellcat Challenger owners will snatch up one of these green Ram pickups when they hit the market.

We don’t know when this green Ram 1500 might hit the market as right now, there is no light green paint option available in the “build your own” section on Since we are already well into the 2017 model year, we might not see this option until the 2018 model year. In either case, this bright green Ram could debut as soon as the New York Auto Show, although you have to wonder whether FCA is really going to pack even more news into the Big Apple show.

Although Ram is no stranger to offering special edition/limited edition color-themed pickups, a sporty Sublime Ram 1500 might be their most popular yet.
