Ram eases upfits again (video)

by David Zatz on

There are a startling number of configurations for commercial trucks and vans; now, Ram Commercial has two new programs to help upfitters, dealers, and customers.

Ram Augmented Reality Upfit Configurator

The Ram Augmented Reality Upfit Configurator and Q Pro were designed to make it easier to see, certify, and install truck-mounted products.  The RARUC was launched last year, letting buyers walk around the virtual truck and see inside; at the time, though, it was only used on the ProMaster. Now, it covers the entire Ram Chassis Cab line, from the 3500 to the 5500.

“The commercial truck segments rely heavily on customer options, reliability, and ease of conversion and no one does it better than Ram,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “As part of continued improvement, Ram Commercial addresses all three areas with the introduction of Ram Augmented Reality Upfit Configurator and Q Pro while maintaining industry leadership for ease-to-upfit on our Chassis Cab trucks and ProMaster vans.”

Meanwhile, Q Pro is a new qualification process for upfitters to certify their product with Ram Engineering.  Once certified, the upfitter can use Ram’s Q Pro co-brand to help market their product and customers can be assured that their new truck and upfit have been checked for quality, reliability, durability, regulatory compliance, and warranty coverage.

The commercial vehicle market is highly competitive, and often relies on added equipment from upfitters. Ram continues to credibly claim that its chassis cabs are the easiest to upfit.
