Ram: Kentucky Derby sponsor

Now in its eighth year of being the “Official Truck” of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, Ram Truck is give the trainer of the winning horse a unique 143rd Kentucky Derby Edition Ram 2500 Limited.

Fans will see on-site truck displays, video board integrations, backcountry and trackside signage, branding on staff uniforms, and logos worn by jockeys Javier Castellano (Gunnevera), Brian Hernandez , Jr. (McCraken), and Joel Rosario (Practical Joke). Ram will also run television ads on the NBC telecast, and post Derby posts on its social-media channels (#RamDerby).

Ram ProMaster vans will transport the winning jockeys’ bouquets and the Kentucky Oaks to be worn by the winning horses.

The first custom Derby Edition Ram 2500 Limited being given to the trainer of the winning Thoroughbred is done in Brilliant Black, with  blue Kentucky Derby 143rd logos and a hand-painted Kentucky Derby rose badge on the front grille.

A pink-wrapped Ram 3500 Limited dually will lead the Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade on Friday, May 5. Now in its ninth year, the parade is a march of breast and ovarian cancer survivors on the Churchill Downs track; 143 survivors will walk in the parade.

Ram will have themed truck displays and branded giveaway items at multiple locations; race fans can get souvenir pictures taken. Ram messaging will appear on the “Big Board,” the largest 4K video board in an outdoor arena.

The TV ads include one set to a custom arrangement of Bob Dylan’s song “Forever Young” (“Long Live”); they can be seen on the Ram YouTube channel starting on Saturday evening.

Ram is also working with TwinSpires.com on a truck giveaway for those at the Derby and everyone watching at home. The TwinSpires Ram Truck Giveaway is a fun and free way to try and win a 2017 Ram 3500 Limited.
