We Are Mopar: 1,200 cars so far

by David Zatz on

The second annual “We Are Mopar” event, to be held at the Texas Motor Speedway on August 5, already has 1,200 cars and trucks signed up. Owners of cars, trucks, and Jeeps are coming from four countries and 25 states.

The event kicks off on August 4, 2017, with Friday Night Lights presented by Oracle Lighting, which will also be doing installs there. This lighting competition will have vendors, food for sale, a DJ, and other attractions to browse around.

The following day, August 5, 2017, the main event takes place for a full eight hours, from noon to 8 pm, at the Speedway. There will be a color guard presentation, several major vendors, the Mopar showdown, and this year’s featured charity — “Laps 4 Vets” (sponsored by B.F. Goodrich). All of the Laps 4 Vets proceeds will go to a military foundation which helps veterans who have fallen on hard times. Last year, WAM was able to provide over $6,000 to the Dallas Fallen Officers Fund; this year, the goal is to double that.

Owners of Mopars old and new can register to show their cars, or purchase spectator tickets, through Eventbrite. Registration is $35 ($5 off registration today with code WAM2) per car. The event is being organized and promoted by Pedro Murillo, who is also the president of the host club, DFWLX (a Dallas/Fort Worth LX car club).
