EuroCompass made in Mexico

by David Zatz on

The European Jeep Compass is being made in Toluca, Mexico, at the former Chrysler plant — which once made the Neon and PT Cruiser, and still builds the Dodge Journey.

European engine options, for the moment, are a 1.6 or 2.0 liter diesel engine, and a 1.4 liter gasoline engine, all having Fiat designs, with a choice of six speed manual or nine speed automatic gearing.  More engine and transmission choices are likely to arrive in the future.

Right-hand-drive versions for the UK will be built in India, which started Compass production today.

The new 2017 Jeep Compass is arriving at dealerships throughout North America, where it is sold alongside the older 2017 Jeep Compass. Both standard and Trailhawk models are available in the United States and Canada now.
