2018 Dodge Challenger pricing comes online

by Patrick Rall on

The full spread of 2018 Dodge Challenger models are now available in the “Build & Price” section of Dodge.com, allowing us to look at how the 2018 prices differ from the 2017 models. In some cases, the price remains unchanged, but many of the returning trimlines are more expensive for the new model year, with increases ranging up to $1,300 for the Hellcat.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger has 16 trimlines, so to make it a little easier to break down the pricing changes, we will go by engine size. None of these prices include destination, which is a flat $1,095.

Pentastar V6 Cars
The 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine is the base engine in the 2018 Dodge Challenger SXT, SXT Plus, and GT (all wheel drive). Only the GT has changed for 2018, rising by $100.

Trim – 2017 Price – 2018 Price – Change
SXT – $26,995 – $26,995 – NA
SXT Plus – $29,995 – $29,995 – NA
GT All-Wheel Drive – $33,395 – $33,495 – +$100

5.7 Hemi V8 Cars
The 5.7 liter Hemi V8 is the base engine in six trimlines for the 2018 Dodge Challenger: R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, T/A, and T/A Plus. The Shakers remain unchanged for 2018, but the R/T and R/T Plus both increase by $500, the T/A increases by $100, and the T/A Plus increases by $300.

Trim – 2017 Price – 2018 Price – Change
R/T – $32,995 – $33,495 – +$500
R/T Plus – $35,995 – $36,495 – +$500
R/T Shaker – $36,995 – $36,995 – NA

392 V8 Cars
The 6.4 liter, 392 cubic inch Hemi is offered in the 2018 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack, Scat Pack Shaker, T/A 392, and SRT 392. The T/A 392 remains unchanged for 2018, but the Scat Pack climbed by $1,000, the 392 Shaker is up $700, and the SRT 392 is up $300.

Trim – 2017 Price – 2018 Price – Change
R/T Scat Pack – $38,995 – $39,995 – +$1,000
392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker – $43,795 – $44,495 – +$700
T/A 392 – $44,995 – $44,995 – NA
SRT 392 – $50,195 – $50,495 – +$300

The Hellcats
Last, but most certainly not least, we have the three models which are powered by the supercharged 6.2 liter Hemi V8: the SRT Hellcat, Hellcat Widebody, and the Demon. The Widebody Hellcat and Demon are both new, so there is no comparison price from 2017, but the original Hellcat Challenger pricing climbed by $1,300 for 2018, making it the most substantial in terms of the new model year price increase.

Trim – 2017 Price – 2018 Price – Change
Hellcat – $64,195 – $65,495 – +$1,300
Hellcat Widebody – New – $71,495
Demon – New – $85,590
