Alfa Romeo’s surprise quality win

Alfa Romeo has beaten Honda — at least, in the United Kingdom.

The famed magazine WhatCar? reported that Alfa Romeo was the fifth most reliable brand of cars aged up to three years in its latest survey.

The magazine sent a survey to owners of 14,208 owners to ask about faults suffered in the prior year. The top brand, not surprisingly, was Lexus, followed by Mitsubishi — which has often done well in WhatCar? research. Toyota and Suzuki were #3 and #4 (Suzuki uses Fiat diesel engines).

There were 32 cars in the list, and Jeep anchored the bottom at #32, scoring below Land Rover (#31) and Tesla (#30). Fiat was #24 — coming in with nearly the exact same score as Mercedes, and above Volvo — and well above Tesla.
