New Grand Cherokee S

by David Zatz on

A new limited edition Jeep Grand Cherokee S may attract North American buyers — but they can’t get it, the S is for Europe.

The new version uses low-gloss Granite Crystal accents and 20-inch wheels, with a glossy black grille and window surrounds; the dual exhaust uses black chrome. The sport suspension is included.

Inside, buyers get Anodized Gun Metal accents, black wood finishes, and black stitching, with black Nappa perforated lather seats and bright metal pedals.

Standard features include the 8.4 inch touch-screen, seven-inch gauge display, CarPlay and Android Auto, 506-watt Alpine audio with active noise cancellation, dual-pane sunroof, heated/ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and dual zone climate control.

The four wheel drive system is Quadra-Drive II, a full-time system using a rear electronic limited-slip differential (ELSD); the traction system, Selec-Terrain, has five settings.

A full panoply of safety features are optional, including blind spot and rear cross path protection, parking assistance, and a rear camera with a trailer view.

Engine choices for the Grand Cherokee in Europe are the 250-hp diesel, 286-hp gasoline V8, and 352-hp Hemi V8.
