Ram makes Best of Show

by David Zatz on gave the 2019 Ram 1500 its “best of show” award today, because of “its blend of capability, comfort, technology and efficiency.”

The Ram dropped 225 pounds while becoming stronger and safer, increasing towing to 12,750 pounds and payload to 2,300 pounds; a new mild-hybrid setup is optional on the Hemi and standard on the V6. There is also an optional 12-inch touch-screen, 360° camera, active noise cancellation, blind-spot and rear cross path monitoring, and numerous other improvements and features from the highly technical (active vibration cancelling and heated axle fluid) to the simple (lighted RamBox lids).

The Pacifica won “Family Car of the Year,” as well; cited its “standard safety features, a price reduction in base models, and updated multimedia systems with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.” The Pacifica was the first minivan to win a “Best of” award last year.
