6th Annual Northeast Mopar Festival is this weekend

by Patrick Rall on

If you are a Mopar lover and you live within driving distance of Long Island, New York, you should be planning to attend the 6th Annual Northeast Mopar Festival on September 29th at Broadway Commons (Broadway Mall) in Hicksville. Each year, the Northeast Mopar Festival is easily the biggest all-Mopar gathering on Long Island, with an average of over 200 cars on display, but during years with better weather, the show field has numbered greater than 400 vehicles. serving as this year’s title sponsor.

In other words, the 6th Annual Northeast Mopar Festival is an amazing car show whether you are showing or just looking, but the car show is just the beginning. I had a chance to speak with event organizer Shawn Kaufman, who provided us with the full details on this massive New York area Mopar extravaganza.

First and foremost, this isn’t just a car show – it is a charity event. Each year, the proceeds of the Northeast Mopar Festival go to the American Diabetes Association, with thousands of dollars contributed each year. While being a big Mopar show is nice, holding an event to proceed such an important charitable cause makes this event unique compared to many of your average car shows.

Also, while this show is based in Long Island, New York, Mopar owners come from all over the American Northeast to take in the event. This year, there are show cars coming from New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Massachusetts, to name a few.

Back to the car show. Vehicle owners who bring their Mopar machine to the Northeast Mopar Festival receive a goodie bag chock full of items from supporting vendors. Those sponsors of the huge event include Katzkin Leather, American Brother Designs, Detroit Shirt Company, X-lume, DiodeDynamics, Advance Auto Parts,, SRT & Hellcat Apparel, MAD Artistry and more. This event is hosted by the Long Island Modern Mopar Club with Security Dodge Jeep Chrysler Ram serving as the title sponsor.

Also, while the event doesn’t have car show classes, there are awards to recognize the best and brightest vehicles in attendance with those awards being provided by American Brother Designs. The best interior, the best engine bay, the best paint and the best suspension setup are just a few of the awards issued at the event, giving many attendees a chance to take home an award. Registration for show vehicles is just $20.

Speaking of sponsors, the Northeast Mopar Festival includes a raffle and auction with some of the most incredible prizes you will see at any show – Mopar-only or otherwise. This includes a custom leather interior layout from Katzkin, gift certifications from Mopar, original artwork from the FCA Design Studio and many other items.

We have included a few shots courtesy of Creative Image Photography, but for a closer look at the crowd from a few years back, click here for a look at the whole gallery.
