Aftermarket tuning capabilities unlocked for many 2019 FCA vehicles

by Patrick Rall on

If you have a 2019 Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler vehicle and you are interested in adding more power by means of a custom engine tune, HPTuners may offer a tuning product for your ride. The company recently announced their product offerings for the 2019 model year FCA vehicles and they service every popular performance model from Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep, along with the minivans from both Dodge and Chrysler.

2019 HPTuners Update

So far, HPTuners offers tuning access for the following 2019 model year FCA vehicles, followed by the applicable engines:

Charger – 3.6L, 5.7L, 6.2L Hellcat, 6.4L
Challenger – 3.6L, 5.7L, 6.2L Hellcat, 6.2L Redeye, 6.4L
Durango – 3.6L, 5.7L, 6.4L
Grand Caravan – 3.6L

Wrangler JL – 3.6L
Grand Cherokee – 3.6L, 5.7L, 6.2L Trackhawk, 6.4L

300 – 3.6L, 5.7L
Pacifica – 3.6L Non-Hybrid

So, that is every Dodge product except for the Journey with every available engine option for each vehicle along with both available engines for the Chrysler 300.

Within the Jeep brand, every Grand Cherokee engine option is tunable right now, while only the Pentastar V6 is currently serviced in the new Wrangler. As is the case with the Pacifica, HPTuners doesn’t have a tuning package for the hybrid option in the JL. The new turbo-4 in the JL Wrangler is a great engine with lots of potential, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes a tuning company to work with the eTorque hybrid system.

Finally, while the latest statement from HPTuners doesn’t mention the 2019 Ram, the “Ram Classic” 1500 with the 3.6-liter V6 and the 5.7-liter Hemi can by tuned by HPTuners products, but the newest generation Ram 1500 is not currently serviced by this company.

Like most tuning devices, the HPTuners MVPI2 plugs into your vehicle’s OBDII diagnostic port, allowing you to connect to your vehicles on-board computer system. Once connected, you can upload performance tunes to the engine control along with accessing a long list of information that is stored in your vehicle’s computer system. The main attraction of the HPTuners product is the ability to add more power by means of a custom engine tune, but the device also provides access to the information recorded by every sensor in the vehicle.

If you are going to significantly modify your vehicle, you need a tuning device and if you have a 2019 model year vehicle listed above, HPTuners is one of the first companies on the market to offer plug-in tuning access.
