Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition comes with a chance to win $100k

by Patrick Rall on

While the 2020 Jeep Gladiator is sure to be a hit with enthusiasts of the brand, four-wheel-drive lovers and those folks looking for a trail rated mid-sized pickup, but for one day, FCA is sweetening the deal for those people who have long been waiting for a truck with the look and capabilities of the Wrangler. On April 4th – what Jeep execs call “4×4 Day” – FCA will have a unique buying experience for a unique Gladiator.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition will only be available for ordering on April 4th, 2019 and production is limited to 4,190 units. It is based on a fully-optioned, top-of-the-line Gladiator Rubicon, with unique appointments inside and out and an MSRP of $60,815, but there is an interesting twist to this limited edition package. Everyone who purchases a Gladiator Launch Edition on April 4th will be entered into the “Find Your Freedom” contest, with the prize being what FCA is calling a year’s salary, but the exact dollar value is $100,000.

That’s right – buying one of the Gladiator Launch Edition pickups could score you $100,000 and even if you don’t win the money, you still come away with the most capable mid-sized truck ever sold in the United States.

Launch Edition Details

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition is a Rubicon with every option and an array of unique design cues inside and out. Features of the package include body-colored hard top, body-colored fender flares, a unique forged aluminum tailgate, unique 17-inch black wheels wrapped in 33-inch Falken Wildpeak tires, a leather-wrapped instrument panel, black leather seats with red accent stitching and unique badging inside and out.

Standard equipment for the Rubicon, all of which is included in the Launch Edition, includes the Rock-Trac 4×4 system with Tru-Lok differentials, heavy-duty off-road bumpers, skid plates, tow hooks, Dana 44 axles, the 285-horsepower Pentastar V6, the Trail Rated suspension setup, LED headlights, LED taillights, the 8.4-inch UConnect system, a 9-speaker Alpine stereo system, keyless entry, the forward-facing TrailCam camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, the Trail Rail Cargo Management system a spray-in bedliner, the Trailer Tow Group and a huge spread of safety features like blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, the rear parking assist system and much more.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition

Options for the 2020 Gladiator Launch Edition include either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic and five different exterior colors – Black, Bright White, Billet Silver Metallic, Granite Crystal Metallic and Firecracked Red, shown here.

Again, this package will only be available for ordering on 4×4 day, April 4th 2019, and production is limited to 4,190 units. Why 4,190? Because the truck is built in Toledo in the 419 area code. Realistically, it seems unlikely that Jeep will sell all 4,190 units in one day, especially with an MSRP starting over $60,000, but that isn’t a bad price for what you get coupled with the chance to win $100,000.

The vehicles will be available via a unique website dedicated specifically to the Launch Edition sales, where a concierge will assist you with the trade-in value of anything being traded on the Gladiator while also putting you in touch with the dealership that will deliver your limited edition Jeep pickup.

Find Your Freedom

While many Jeepers would love to spend all of their time offroading and finding adventure in their new Gladiator, most people have to work and that work prevents some of us from getting out into the wilderness. That is where the “Find Your Freedom” contest comes into play.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition

One of the people who order a Launch Edition Gladiator on April 4th will be entered into a drawing for $100,000, which is intended to cover a year’s salary so that the winner can spend a year going on adventures with their new Jeep truck. Of course, we wonder how many people can literally take off an entire year of work, but if nothing else, you come away with $100,000 to help enjoy your new Trail Rated pickup.

The Launch Edition website is not live as of the time of publishing of this piece, but we will update this article with a live link as soon as it is available, so if you are truly interested in buying a new Launch Edition model, check back to this piece for that link.
