Jeep takes Ward’s Best Interior slot, Dodge is Car of Texas

by David Zatz on

What do the Bentley Continental GT, BMW M850i, Genesis G70, Lincoln Nautilus, Nissan Kicks, and Jeep Gladiator have in common? Each won a slot in Ward’s Ten Best Interiors list, in its ninth year.

As usual, the list ranged through a wide number of car companies; of all the automakers in the world, only Hyundai-Kia won two awards, with the Genesis and Santa Fe taking honors.

Some of Jeep’s past Texas awards; Ram has been a perennial winner

While Ram has won the “Truck of Texas” award a few times, it’s the cars’ turn now; and the 2019 Dodge Challenger won the top award, the right to be called the “Car of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). The Challenger was also Performance Car and Performance Coupe of Texas. For the fourth consecutive year, the Chrysler Pacifica doubled as Family car of Texas and Minivan of Texas; and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio won its third consecutive year as Performance Sedan of Texas.

Over forty TAWA journalists drove 29 vehicles on local roads and an autocross course to determine the winners. Fiat Chrysler won more awards than other automakers.
