“Launch Special” Gladiator sold out—in one day (updated)

by David Zatz on

There was a lot of grumbling on the Internet about the price of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition, put up for pre-order on Jeep 4×4 Day, April 4. But Jeep was apparently right on target with the special edition Wrangler-based pickup: all 4,190 Gladiators sold out in one day.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition

Consumers who pre-ordered a Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition can enter the “Find Your Freedom” contest, and one person can win  $100,000 for some time off to pursue their outdoor adventure. To enter, Launch Edition buyers can send their personal “Gladiator” video to be judged by Jeep along with Wounded Warriors and U.S. Army veteran Noah Galloway, who will choose the winner. Galloway shares more details in this video.

Tim Kuniskis said that the traffic to order the Launch Edition was so high that it locked up the Jeep website running on 8 servers, so they doubled to 16 and the website was still struggling to keep up with the demand.  They also established a waiting list beyond 4190, in case people back out.
