Dodge Challenger Charger and Durango Discounted $10 per Horsepower

by Patrick Rall on

If you buy a 2019 Dodge Challenger, Charger or Durango by September 3rd, you could save up to $7,970 on the coupe, $7,070 on the sedan and $4,750 on the SUV.

The Dodge brand has announced an industry-first cash allowance program for the 2019 Challenger, Charger and Durango that is based purely on the power output of the trim level chosen. Starting now and running through September 3rd, the “Dodge Power Dollars” program is offering a cash allowance (fancy term for a discount) of $10 per horsepower, meaning that if you buy a 707-horsepower Charger SRT Hellcat, you will receive a cash allowance of $7,070 while the 797-horsepower Challenger Hellcat Redeye comes with $7,970 on the hood.

Best of all, this just for the high performance versions of the Challenger, Charger and Durango. The entire trim range of all three models is included in the program, so even the V6 models come with a discount that ranges from $2,920 to $3,050.

“Since bringing the Charger and Challenger back to market, Dodge has put 485 million horsepower into the hands of our loyal enthusiasts,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “Dodge has more horsepower than anyone else, and we want to share it and give those who have always wanted more the ability to get more. The goal is to grow to a half-billion horsepower before the end of the year. This is what we believe John and Horace Dodge would want us to do.”

This is a great way for Dodge to clear out 2019 models to make room for the 2020 models that will be arriving in dealerships later this year.

Update: We originally stated that this program was only good on vehicles delivered by September 3rd, but a representative from Dodge has explained that is not the case, and right now, the plan is to run the campaign through the end of the year – although there will be a month-to-month evaluation of the program. That being said, this is a smokin’ deal, so if you are serious about buying one of these vehicles, we suggest that you don’t drag your feet too much.

Dodge Challenger Discounts

First up, the Dodge Power Dollars program for the 2019 Challenger offers buyers a range of $3,050 to $7,970, as the base SXT model packs 305 horsepower while the premium Redeye model delivers a class-leading 797 horsepower. The discount for each trim line is as follows.

Hellcat Redeye – 797 – $7,970

Dodge Charger Discounts

Next up, the Dodge Charger offers buyers a range of $2,920 to $7,070, with horsepower levels ranging from 292 in the SXT to 707 in the Hellcat.

Dodge Durango Discounts

Finally, the Dodge Durango horsepower levels range from 293 in the SXT to 475 in the SRT, so the cash allowance for the muscular SUV ranges from $2,930 to $4,750.

Model – Horsepower – Cash allowance
SRT – 475 – $4,750
R/T – 360 – $3,600

All of these cash allowances are currently showing up on Dodge.com when you “build your own”, so if you are considering a 2019 Challenger, Charger or Durango, now is a good time to buy.
