Horsepower Challenge winners begin receiving their prizes

by Patrick Rall on

On December 24th, Bill Goldberg delivered the first of the five unique Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeyes to a winner of the Horsepower Challenge. The five week program grilled fans of the Dodge brand with some seriously tough multiple choice math questions. Each week, a winner was drawn from the pool of correct answers, leading to five winners overall. Each of those winners will get a unique Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, featuring the 797-horsepower supercharged Hemi and special seasonal badging.

“Everyone of us had a moment (or more) in our school days when we questioned if any of this would help us in the real world. Well, all our math teachers should be proud, because more than 17,000 Dodge fans correctly solved what we thought were nearly impossible-to-answer challenges,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “But more than giving away these amazing machines, the Dodge Horsepower Challenge has given us the chance to stay connected to our passionate performance enthusiasts and welcome more fans into the Brotherhood of Muscle. After nearly 18 million video views, lots of help from friends online and likely a high level of frustration, we want to thank everyone who competed. We hope you had fun. And congratulations to everyone who correctly completed the challenges. We wish we could give you all a Redeye.”

In the video below, Bill Goldberg does a quick burnout in the Challenger Hellcat Redeye before delivering the car to the winner. We know the winner only as “Dave”, but Santa Goldberg rolled up to his house, beat on the door and gave him the key to his new 797-horsepower Mopar muscle car. That had to be an amazing Christmas present.

For those wondering, the unique aspect of the prize cars is that the Hellcat logos have reindeer antlers added for some added seasonal effect.

The press release that announced the delivery of the first Redeye prize from the Horsepower Challenge stated that the “additional four winners to receive their Hellcats in the coming weeks”. We don’t know exactly when, but even if the major awards arrive next month, these cars serve as amazing prizes in one of the coolest contests held by an automaker in many moons.
