This morning, FCA introduced the third installment in the Ram 1500 Built to Serve lineup, with the latest group of 2,000 uniquely decorated half-tons paying tribute to the United States Air Force. These trucks will officially go on sale on September 18, which also happens to be the 73 rd anniversary of the U.S. Air Force, but we can expect to see these aeronautical-themed trucks reaching dealers during the fourth quarter of this year.

“Ram continues to honor all of those who serve or have served in the United States armed forces with distinction through our latest ‘Built to Serve’ offering,” said Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand, FCA – North America. “The ‘Built to Serve’ adage is something Ram truck owners, whether civilian or military, are very familiar with as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce.”

The latest Ram 1500 Built to Serve edition package begins on the outside, where buyers can pick from Anvil or Billet Silver exterior paint. The outside of these trucks also feature 20-inch wheels painted Technical Gray, body-colored wheel flares, an all-black grille, black bumpers, black lighting bezels, black badges, black side steps, black exhaust tips and an American flag decal which is accompanied by the Built to Serve decal on the bedsides – also in black.

On the inside, the Ram 1500 Built to Serve models feature a mostly-black cabin, with this newest model showcasing Light Diesel Gray accent stitching. The seats have embroidered Velcro panels where owners can add their own military patches and on the back of the front seats is the Pouch Attachment Ladder System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment (PALS/MOLLE) storage system. The cabin also benefits from a Built to Serve instrument panel badge, an optional lockable console storage, cloth sport seats, Black Onyx Chrome interior trim and all-weather slush mats.

The Built to Serve package can be added to any Ram 1500 body style with any of the available engine options, but the 4x4 Off Road Group is standard on all of these military-themed trucks. That package includes all-terrain tires, an electronic-locking rear axle, hill descent control, tow hooks, heavy duty front and rear shocks and skid plates under the front suspension, steering gear, fuel tank and transfer case.

The first wave of Ram Built to Serve models was introduced back in November of 2019, with those trucks painted Gator and Diamond Black paying tribute to the Army. The next installment came back in
June, when the Navy was honored with trucks painted Ceramic Gray or Patriot Blue. The trucks discussed here in Anvil and Billet Silver are the third group and the next two will include Ram 1500s painted Tank and Flame Red followed by Spitfire and Bright White.
