      $22 got me a kit with UV penlight and tinted goggles. Good enough to spot any leak worth finding.

      Comes with one bottle of oil. I needed to add nearly half of it when new. Good idea to buy another bottle. The pump runs hot after awhile, the oil level should be checked about every 1/2 hour of operation.

      That venturi pump isn't all that great for this purpose. You really want and need to use this pump to get ALL of the air and moisture out.

      It could be worth your while to get a real vacuum pump, something like this at a minimum.

      I've got one of these http://www.amazon.com/Robinair-1543...33295031&sr=1-6&keywords=robinair+vacuum+pump but I do quite a bit of A/C and heat pump work. You don't need to spend that much to get a decent pump for car use.

      While that pump technically works, this is far superior and should be used for anything you want to last for more than a couple of years.

      We have a similar pump at AutoZone in our loaner tool program.
