Not that it helps with your current issue, but I have a Battery Tender for my (rarely driven) SRT-4 and Dakota R/T, and it comes with a ring terminal cable w/ capped plug end (that you can get separate for $10. https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tend...68&sprefix=battery+tender,aps,145&sr=8-8&th=1).
Just hook the ring ends to the battery, and leave the plug/capped end where you can get to it if you lose power (on my SRT-4 it's at the cowl, on my Dakota R/T it's at the grill). Then you can get power to the battery when you can't access it.
