Hey guys,

I am trying to install a dual reservoir master cylinder into my 63 dart. I did a lot of research and found one with the same bolt patter as the original master cylinder. I'm new to brake parts. I am trying to figure out how the plunger fits into the new master cylinder. There is a rubber piece in the new master cylinder that looks like the plunger is supposed to fit in. Is the piece attached to the end of the plunger (the rod that connects to the pedal) able to be removed?

Yes, it comes out, they are very tight and there is a clip that holds it in. It takes a pair of vice grips tightened close to the flange and then a pry bar between the two to pop it off.

Thank you! I was afraid to break it so I figured I'd ask before trying to force it. I will give it a try this weekend.
