Hi All,

I finally landed my '63 Valiant Signet 200 convertible in the driveway. I had bought a few missing exterior parts for it on ebay before I had it here, and before I dig in to work in earnest on it.

Can anyone help me ID if these hubcaps and mirror were actually '63 stock, or did i get fleeced on ebay once again (ha ha).

Here are my rims - I assume they are stock, with 185/70 14 tires. (By the way, would like to hear your tire recommendations):

Here are the hubcaps I bought on Ebay, whereas it looks to me like the right ones would be be smaller, around 7-8" diameter?

Driver's side mirror. Heres what I got on ebay as "stock"

whereas the paint indicates something with a 6" base and 4" between the mounting screws:

Appreciate any comments you might have about whats stock and whats not
(tried to put images inline in the post but couldnt - so they are links. sorry)

From what I could make out on an image search, I think your parts are correct. Most of the wheel covers I saw were like that, but with a Valiant logo in the center.

Thanks for your help - I noticed too that a roughly 13" cap of this design seems correct but it really looks like these rims are made for something smaller. So maybe the rims are not stock - I see later Valiants with a smaller hub cap.

Would really appreciate any other input from those who know, or any links I could use to find the right trim pieces.

Any comments on the mirror?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I can see, the mirror looks correct. Someone probably used an incorrect mirror in the past. The wheel covers should fit inside the rim, You'll just have to try and see. If you were using hub caps, then they would snap over the three flattened areas you can see on the raised ring just outside of the bolt circle.

The wheelcovers are original 1963 Plymouth Valiant for 13 inches wheels. You currently have 14 inches wheels on the car, which probably came off a different car. I think the 1963 Valiant originally came only with 13" wheels. 1963 Plymouth Valiant dogdish hubcaps will fit on either size wheel.

Thanks a lot CHRYNY - I finally figured this out by finding the other thread about 13" tire options . Good thing because I went and bought a set of 14" Kumho tires - they do fit my later-model rims. I appreciate your response.

Mirrors are correct..I had a 63 vert once. Cool cars! Mine was a complete rustbucket as regards to floorpans and top was in tatters but still loved sunny days! Good luck with yours!

I have to disagree with those saying this mirror is the stock issue, It is not man. At least not for a '63. I am posting a few pics of mine which is stock and absolutely 100% legit. I am not sure why folks are saying the one you have is the original part?

As you can see in my pics, your current pics of the length & shape (I call it bullet) are for the mirror I have shown and you are correct in thinking 6" base, and mounting holes at about 4-1/2 inches apart give or take. I hope you can find the original, it's not a hard part to come by.

As for the hub caps, they are the original issue no question about it. But the stock rims are 13" rims. I am currently running Kumho 185/70/13. View mine here http://www.allpar.com/forums/topic/155348-my-63-valiant-v200-4-d/

You are wrong I have probally owned more of these cars than you and the double post mirror is correct, if you remember in 63 a lot of things where optional and it could be a dealer add on. If you want proof go to forabodiesonly. The only other factory option if I remember is a remote controlled one which looks nothing like what you pictured.

From what I have researched, the optional MOPAR side view should be a double post. However many of these cars where ordered without side mirror's and many dealers would just add on what mirrors they kept in stock and most of the time they just fine and very would even notice the difference.
