I just acquired a 1979 Dodge Power Wagon 200. I got it for $600! Anyways, it runs and drives. What are your thoughts on it? The floor boards are good, surprising! It has a 318 and 4 speed. Also, any tips on how to remove the windshield, a tree branch fell through it and destroyed the dash pretty good. And where also can I get replacement parts for the dash? like the entire thing I'm pretty sure is gonna have to be replaced. But I am going to see what I can salvage and start from there.

Nice find and good price. LMC Trucks can get the windshield rubber and a whole host of parts. Dash may be another story, but there is about a decade where they were mostly the same and will fit/work.
Other thing to remember is the 4spd should be an A-833OD, aluminum cased overdrive unit (.71 overdrive). Third gear is one to one ratio, so don't shift into 4th gear until you are going to be going 45+mph, just to save the wear and tear on the transmission.

I have checked out LMC and got the windshield stuff already ordered. It's beginning to look like junkyards for me for the dash. I think that the 77-79 were the same style of dash? I think in '80 they switched to completely new style of dash.
Thanks for the info on the transmission! I'll keep that in mind!

Being a 200, it might not have the 4 speed overdrive unit. It may be a conventional 4 speed.
The 4 speed overdrive was an A833 with revised ratios.
But I think the heavier trucks used a non-overdrive New Process transmission.

I can recall if a 1979 has the metal build tag or the equipment decal under the hood. That would specify the transmission. Otherwise it may come down to looking under the truck and compare to pictures online.

Easiest way to tell if it is the A-833OD is to see if there are shift fork rods on the driver's side of the case and it has an aluminum case (as mentioned). The heavier duty NP-435(think that's the number) is the shifter comes directly out the top of the transmission.
