Hello all, I have a 1989 Dodge Dakota Shelby pickup that needs to have the computer reflashed. I have a couple questions that I am hoping someone can help me with:

A) Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement computer for this truck?

B) Does anyone know where I can get the parameters to have my computer reflashed or rebuilt?

C) If all else fails, and if none are available, does anyone have a good idea for a "plan B"?

Thanks everyone!

Auto parts stores carry many remanufactured computers. The dealer can reflash them.

What issue are you having?

Unless I have been reading incorrectly, the engine management part of the computer was not anything special, it is the same 5.2 in the Ram of the same year, or the Dakota of 1990, nothing special whatsoever is inside the engine, it is just jammed in there as a completely stock 318 one year before the front end was extended a couple inches. The transmission on the other hand, was the first year for it, the Shelby page for the Dakota talks about it. That may be the only thing you really have to worry about, but even that was available in 1990.
