You cannot mix 1993 and up with anything 1992 and earlier, there were major changes in TCM electronics at that time. You must adhere to the year/engine limits listed below.
4796121 is the latest reflash for 89-91 3.0L AC,AY,AS,AG,AA & AJ
4761846 is an old flash for 89-91 3.0L AC,AY,AS,AG,AA & AJ
4796123 is the latest reflash for 92 3.0L AS,AA,AC,AJ,AG,AY,AP & MEX A1
4686606 is the latest reflash for 93-95 AC,AY,AS,ES,AG,AA,AJ,AP,A1,A3,A4 &A5 AL

I meant to post this in your other thread if no one else did, but it took some time to find the info on my old computer.

Keep driving, it should learn. If it's a used TCM it still remembers the "old" transmission it was attached to. If it's a new one, it likely starts from a default setting. The original TCM had a memory that could be erased with a battery disconnect. The newer ones have a non-volatile memory meaning they do not reset after a battery disconnect. I don't think there will be a quick learn via scan tool available for a 1992 car. Follow the procedure here to retrain it faster:

Yeah, I hope you mean a late calendar year 1991 car that is really a 1992 model. The difference between 1991 (model year) and 1992 is very important in this case.

Agreed, the car is a 1992. I agree, it's too early to say the swap isn't working. I'll bet it keeps getting better.

There is no kickdown cable on an A604. The differing shift points are part of the learning process. Drive the car hard and the A604 will leanr to upshift at higher RPMs. Baby the car and the A604 will learn to shift earlier.

You can skip disconnecting the battery. It will have no effect. There is no set time period, that adaptive process is what made the A604 unique.

Furthermore, if you did find the correct updated TCM, you need to remove pin 49 from the TCM connector as per FSM 18-24-95, to prevent random 3 to 4 upshifts or 4 to 3 downshifts when pressing the brake.
I have yet to find a car where pin 49 is populated. I suspect it may be a minivan only thing but I've never checked minivans to see if that pin is there for them.

It is unlikely there will be a pin in position 49, but if there is, remove it.
The book should have a pinout diagram in it.

Give it some time, the computer may "learn" it's not hooked to a new unit and adapt top the lower fluid pressures and reduce the bump.
