Having intermittent braking problem. Seems left front is sometimes making noise. but twice now the brake pedal stops part way to floor, and no braking occurs. Had to use emergency brake. Anyone have an idea, or have you had a similar experience with a Caravan?

If you're not getting a brake light, it sounds like you could be losing vacuum boost. The brake booster is a "helper" servo, meaning that when you push on the pedal, it adds some of its power to your own. If the booster fails, you still have brakes, but they're straight hydraulic and will require a lot of force to stop the car. Modern cars have split braking systems, meaning the front left wheel and right rear wheel are on one circuit and the RF and LR are on an independent circuit. Even if you have a hole in a caliper hose and the system is pumping out fluid on that wheel, you should still have brakes on the other two wheels. Check for a mechanical blockage of the pedal first, though.
